Talking Disability Aesthetics
With Keke Brown, Claire Cunningham & Dalibor Šandor
Sat 07.03.
13.00 – 14.00 h
Goethe-Institut
Meet three international disabled artists involved in this year’s TANZPLATTFORM DEUTSCHLAND and the project WITH: Keke Brown (USA), Claire Cunningham (UK) and Dalibor Šandor (SRB). They will talk about their artistic practices and discuss with disabled scholar and curator Noa Winter. This panel will not revolve primarily around diversity, inclusion or access – three topics disabled artists are often reduced to. Instead their individual artistic journeys and if/how their own lived experiences of disability inform their aesthetics will be questioned.
The discussion will be held in English spoken language. Unfortunately, ASL or BSL interpretation can’t be offered. The venue has step-free access. Alternative seating and an accessible toilet are available.
